Mohamed Khaled Abdelkhalek

PhD Student

Mohamed received his MSc from the American University in Cairo (Egypt, 2018) in Robotics Control & Smart Systems and his BSc from the German University in Cairo (Egypt 2015) in Computer Science & Engineering. Most recently, he worked on image processing and registration of cardiac MRI image sequences for 3D reconstruction and strain evaluation purposes. He previously worked on fluid structure interaction simulations of microstructures using the immersed boundary method with the bachelor thesis. He is currently working as a PhD student in Motamed Lab on computational modelling of cardiovascular diseases. His research interests include novel image analysis/processing methods on medical imaging sequences and algorithm optimization methods in High Performance Computing.

 

Outside the lab: Mohamed enjoys classical Egyptian music, science fiction novels and outdoor activities such as running, sight-seeing and museums.
