Mohammad Riaz

Undergraduate Research Assistant

Mohammad is a fourth-year undergraduate student at McMaster University where he studies chemical engineering and is working towards a minor in innovation. Mohammad is interested in the applications of Mechanical Engineering in the Human Body and has taken courses of interest outside of his discipline of study – particularly taking the Introductory Biomechanics and Biofluid Mechanics courses. He joined the Motamed Lab in May 2021 where he is researching the Effects of Paravalvular Leakage after TAVR on Coronaries and Aortic Roots.

Outside of the lab: Mohammad is the Vice President of the Outreach Branch of McMaster’s Medical Engineering Design Team. During his spare time, Mohammad enjoys volunteering at Ronald McDonald House, hiking in Hamilton, horseback riding and hanging out with friends. Mohammad also enjoys undertaking small technical projects with friends.
